IN MEMORIAM OF 2015 NYFA ALUM & ZIMBABWEAN JOURNALIST ZORORO MAKAMBA

IN MEMORIAM OF
NYFA 2015 ALUM & ZIMBABWEAN JOURNALIST
ZORORO MAKAMBA

"On behalf of Zororo's friends, classmates and colleagues, we are deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the news of his passing. Zororo (better known as Z by his friends) was taken from us all far too early and unexpectedly. After fighting various health issues in the past, Z contracted the COVID19 virus and passed away earlier this week. He was a wildly talented producer, presenter and creator, with a personality which many of us strive to have. Generous, kind, intelligent, thoughtful, spontaneous and brought a smile to anyone's face who encountered him, or were lucky enough to call him a collaborator and a friend. He dedicated his life's work to better and champion his home country of Zimbabwe, trying to shine a light on both the political injustices and economic turmoil that affected both his countrymen and him personally, all while displaying its beauty and uniqueness. Zororo will be terribly missed and always remembered, not for his passing but for the mark he left on this world.

We would also like to take this time to remind people that everyone is at risk from this devastating virus. Please follow your government's advice and precautions to help stop the spread of COVID19. Approach social distancing and hand washing as if you life depends on it, because it does, and so do the lives of others.

Rest In Peace, Zororo"
