April 22, 2021 - 4:00pm
Dear NYFA LA Community,
In our continued efforts to keep the NYFA LA community informed about incidences of COVID-19 within our community, please read this latest LA COVID-19 Health Report. Prior reports are posted on the LA Health and Campus Updates page on the NYFA Hub and information is regularly updated on the NYFA LA COVID-19 Dashboard.
Five members of the NYFA community have tested positive for COVID-19.
Of the five positive cases:
Two individuals were part of a NYFA production during the infectious period.
One individual tested positive as a result of NYFA’s surveillance testing protocols.
Two individuals are unrelated cases to each other. Neither individual has been on campus, nor were either a part of a NYFA production at any time during the infectious period.
Any individuals within the NYFA LA community who have had close contact with any of the individuals confirmed to have COVID-19 have been instructed to self-quarantine for 10 days. NYFA follows public health contact tracing guidelines to contact any individual who may have been exposed.
All individuals who tested positive are isolating until a safe return to in-person activities is possible.
Included here are links for the latest update to NYFA’s health and safety protocols and about vaccine information. For additional health information and guidance, check the NYFA Student Hub.
NYFA LA is committed to monitoring and mitigating the potential spread of COVID-19 in our community. Although COVID-19 cases in LA County are low, the NYFA LA community is urged to be proactive and vigilant in following public health guidelines including:
Stay home when you are sick and avoid contact with people who are sick.

Avoid sharing food, drinks, or utensils.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipes.
Wear a mask or face covering when venturing outside your home.
Prior reports are posted on the LA Health and Campus Updates page on the NYFA Hub and information is regularly updated on the NYFA LA COVID-19 Dashboard. For additional health information and guidance, check the NYFA Student Hub.
